Where did you grow up?

I was born near San Francisco and then moved to eastern Pennsylvania when I was 7. Then I moved to NYC when I was 18 and most of my real “growing up” happened there!

Favorite place you lived at?

I truly loved living in Park Slope, Brooklyn.
 

QUESTION #5:

Where do you go to “get away” and relax?

 
Getting outdoors for a hike really helps beat the blues! I love being anywhere where I can see wide stretches of sky.
 

QUESTION #6:

What is your favorite part of your studio/workspace?

My racks of fabrics that aren’t part of the collection (yet).
 

QUESTION #7:

What’s your biggest weakness?

Impatience.
 

QUESTION #8:

What’s your biggest strength?

Can I say designing? Ha! But seriously, my mind works in pictures so anything visual is my forte.

What is your favorite thing about the bridal industry?

I love the camaraderie that can be shared between fellow designers and fellow shop owners. When we support one another and want each other to succeed, it can be real love fest!

What makes you smile the most? 

 
The moments when I’m able to share a genuine connection with my younger son (who is autistic).
 
 

QUESTION #11:

What’s one thing people don’t know about you? 

 
Maybe that I was homeschooled!? Along with my 3 brothers and sister, until I entered public school in 7th grade.

What makes you feel the most like yourself?

 
Dancing like no one is watching!
 

QUESTION #13:

What’s the most adventurous thing you’ve done in your life?

 
When I was 22 I went backpacking around Australia and Asia by myself for 6 months!

 What’s your current favorite piece that you’ve designed/made? 
 
Honestly, always and forever I just love my Karina Gown. (Photo to the right.) I would have worn it for my own wedding in 2019 except for that I wanted to make something one of a kind.

What’s inspiring you in life right now? 

The concept of spaciousness and deeply prioritizing presence.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received?

To focus on ONE category of design and get known for that before moving into any others (even if I have major inspo for many more).

What’s heavily played on your music playlist right now? 

I’ve been on a non-stop TSwift trip for a few years now, but lately I also have Noah Kahan on repeat

QUESTION #18:

What’s one thing you had to learn the hard way? 

 
Only one? There are too many to choose from! Maybe I’d say learning to part ways with people who harbor negative energy sooner rather than later.

What’s a bridal trend you would like to see disappear forever?

Cheap embroidery layered over lace over glitter over tulle over poly satin… you get the idea.

When you were younger, what did you want to be when you grew up?

 

A ballerina, a veterinarian, or a wedding gown designer 🙂
